The Registered Nurse (RN) provides skilled nursing care to patients in a Medical/Surgical setting. This role involves administering medications, performing patient assessments, collaborating with the healthcare team, and ensuring high-quality patient care. The RN must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs and care for trach and laryngectomy patients with appropriate training.

Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients in a Medical/Surgical unit.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient information accurately and timely in the electronic health record (Cerner).
- Float within scope to meet facility needs.
- Manage PICC lines and start IVs.
- Care for trach and laryngectomy patients (training provided).
- Willingness to take up to 1:7 patient ratio if needed.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
- BLS certification.
- PICC line management experience.
- Experience with starting IVs.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Cerner experience.
Special Considerations:
- Must be willing to work every other weekend.
- Time off requests falling on weekends may require scheduling an additional weekend to compensate.
- Must be willing to take trach and laryngectomy patients (experience not required but must be willing to learn).
- Must be willing to take up to 1:7 patient ratio if needed.
- Manager will review and decide on RTO based on unit's schedule. Only able to request 1 winter holiday off.
- Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without paying for the cancelled hours.
Scheduling:
- 3x12 or 4x12 day shifts (0645-1915).
- Schedule determined per rotation.
- No block scheduling.
