We are looking for an Accountant for one of our clients in Atlanta, GA! This is a long-term temporary position.

Responsibilities:

• Responsibilities include but are not limited to analyzing financial information, supporting audits, and preparing reports.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with upper management regarding deadlines, tasks, and ongoing projects.
• Review and analyze financial transactions to ensure fiscal integrity and compliance with applicable accounting principles, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare comprehensive accounting reports; identify discrepancies, notify appropriate units, and recommend or initiate corrective actions.
• Collaborate with external agents, institutions, and internal teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of daily financial tasks in accordance with established accounting practices and sub-system requirements.
• Provide advanced-level professional recommendations and financial reports to management for decision-making.
• Develop and maintain effective internal controls, and assist in setting priorities, goals, and objectives for accounting staff.
• Contribute to the development of policies and procedures in assigned functional areas.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and documentation in compliance with policies, procedures, and audit standards.
• Support audits by following prescribed guidelines for providing documentation and information as needed.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of business operations in Accounts Payable
• Skills using queries and reports to monitor financial records
• Ability to retrieve information from the accounting system, analyze, identify and investigate discrepancies
• Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills; Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to interact with all level of management
• Experience with PeopleSoft Financials
