Position Summary: The Vocational Instructor Assistant is a part-time role that supports the Lead Instructor by creating and maintaining an environment that promotes teaching, learning, and student success. This position assists with classroom activities, provides hands-on support during technical training, and helps prepare students for entry-level IT careers through certification preparation, career readiness activities, and employer engagement. The role focuses on supporting instruction and job seeker engagement.

Hourly Rate: $18.13 - 19.71 per hour

Schedule: Part-time, on-site, Monday – Thursday 8am – 1pm, 20 hours per week; hours may vary based on class schedules and program needs. This position is Temporary and will end March 30, 2026.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Vocational Training Assistant Responsibilities and duties Includes the following and other duties as assigned:

  • Classroom Support: Assist the instructor during lessons and hands-on activities to ensure students stay engaged and on track.
  • Course Preparation: Help organize and update instructional materials, set up technology, and prepare resources for class sessions.
  • Student Assistance: Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students who need extra help with technical concepts or career readiness goals.
  • Classroom Management: Support the instructor in maintaining a positive, organized, and safe learning environment.
  • Assessment Support: Assist with grading, tracking student progress, and providing constructive feedback under instructor guidance.
  • Administrative Tasks: Help maintain accurate attendance records, organize student files, and submit required documentation.
  • Professional Development: Stay informed about current IT trends and participate in learning opportunities to better support students.
