Job Summary

This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.

The position provides consultation, education and direction for MnDOT Transportation and Federal Aid programs. Responsibility includes facilitating and coordinating program activities to ensure efficient and effective administration; and providing education and support to clients before committees, task forces, policy groups, division management, federal and local units of government, and other forums.

In-state travel is required for on-site meetings, consultation, and training. Some overnight stay may be required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of advanced professional experience that demonstrates:

  • Experience analyzing cost accounting software and reconciling financial accounts.
  • Experience writing technical documents such as system procedures, processes, or business documentation for end users.
  • Experience interpreting and applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and cost accounting principles.

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, business, or finance may substitute for six months of advanced professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cost accounting applications used by Minnesota counties.
  • Experience providing in-person or virtual trainings and presentations to large audiences.
