Are you a Histotech (HT or HTL certified) looking to earn some extra income this summer with a highly flexible schedule?
Lighthouse Lab Services is partnering with a European diagnostics company that has recently opened new laboratory operations in Kannapolis, NC . We’re seeking a part-time Histotechnologist to support histology and molecular-based workflows—especially those related to cancer marker testing —for approximately 20 hours per week, 9am-1pm Monday-Friday.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Histotech to earn extra income, contribute to a cutting-edge lab, and gain exposure to molecular diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine histology procedures including embedding, microtomy, and staining (H&E and special stains)
Support molecular pathology testing workflows for cancer marker analysis
Ensure high-quality slide preparation and adherence to lab protocols
Maintain laboratory compliance with CAP/CLIA regulations
Serve as an on-site technical support partner for the remote Laboratory Director
Requirements:
HT or HTL (ASCP) certification required
At least 1 year of experience in a clinical or reference histology lab
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Experience with cancer-related specimens or molecular testing is a plus
Familiarity with CAP checklists and inspection readiness preferred
Reliable, self-motivated, and organized
Position Details:
Part-time : 20 hours per week, ideally 9am-1pm Monday - Friday
Pay : $35–$40/hour depending on experience
Ongoing need with potential for long-term involvement based on performance and lab needs
