Job Description

The WVU Rockefeller Neurosciences Center and the Department of Neurology  seek a Neurologist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Summersville, WV.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of general neurology on primarily an outpatient basis with a smaller degree of inpatient duties.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. Successful candidate must have completed a neurology residency program and be board certified / eligible in neurology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Summersville Regional Medical Center i s a 101-bed hospital providing a wide range of emergency, medical and surgical services, as well as rehabilitation and extended care. The hospital employs 500 professional staff members. Nicholas County and the Summersville region offer four-season recreation including whitewater rafting, boating, hiking and fishing. The area is rich in culture, history and natural beauty.

The WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute guides a team of 280 dedicated faculty in providing compassionate patient care and advanced medicine through education, research, and outreach in the many diverse communities we serve. The Institute spearheads efforts to develop innovative solutions for neurological and psychiatric conditions ranging from Alzheimer’s to Parkinson’s; autism to stroke; and paralysis to chronic pain, addictions, and traumatic brain injury.
