SCOPE

The Legal Operations Manager will serve as the operational backbone for UAIC’s Legal, Claims, and HR functions. This role ensures streamlined processes, consistent workflows, and effective collaboration across departments. The manager will support attorney and paralegal operations, optimize case‑management performance, maintain compliance, and drive people‑focused initiatives alongside HR.

  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Legal and Litigation departments (BI, PD, PIP, Subro).
  • Implement workflow standards, templates, and process documentation for attorneys and paralegals.
  • Track litigation metrics: caseloads, cycle times, discovery deadlines, productivity, and outcomes.
  • Coordinate intake, onboarding, and support for outside counsel and expert witnesses.
  • Support budgeting, vendor management, invoicing, and legal spend analytics.
  • Partner with HRBP and Talent Acquisition (you) to support staffing, onboarding, and workforce planning.
  • Oversee legal team training, performance tracking, and competency development.
  • Serve as the operations liaison between Legal leadership, HR, and Claims.
  • Support policy creation, role leveling, compensation analysis inputs, and headcount planning.
  • Build dashboards and reporting for: caseload analytics, KPIs, turnaround times, and staffing needs.
  • Identify gaps in workflow, capacity, or quality and present recommended solutions to leadership.
  • Lead special projects tied to department expansion, technology upgrades, or compliance requirements.
  • Maintain EPO database and serve as liaison between Enterprise Performance Optimization and Legal.
  • Report to Legal Leadership lapse in employee performance.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5–10+ years supporting legal operations, insurance defense, corporate legal, or litigation management.
  • Experience working closely with HR or managing people‑operations activities.
  • Strong command of legal workflows (subpoenas, discovery, filings, BI timelines, property damage, PIP, etc.).
  • Systems proficiency: case‑management platforms, Excel/Power BI, HRIS/ATS familiarity.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project‑management skills.
  • Insurance background strongly preferred (especially non‑standard auto or Florida litigation).
