St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for the position of Institutional Research Analyst II. The Institutional Research Analyst II supports the Office of Institutional Research and Planning (OIRP) in the collection, analysis, and dissemination of institutional data. The Analyst II will prepare data files for submission of federal, state and external reports; respond to internal requests for institutional data and information; assist in the preparation and submission of data to college guides and other external surveys; and prepare public-facing documents and visualizations of institutional data and information. The Analyst II will also coordinate the administration and analysis of student and employee surveys, and will provide technical support as needed for assessment of student learning, strategic planning, institutional effectiveness, and institutional accreditation.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred, preferably in a quantitatively-oriented field such as Social Science, Educational Research or Planning, Higher Education Administration, Statistics, or Mathematics. Experience in one or more areas of higher education to include institutional research, institutional effectiveness, data analysis, data visualization, and/or planning/assessment, preferably in a liberal arts setting. Demonstrated experience and competency utilizing data management systems, including spreadsheets, statistical/database applications, and data visualization tools, (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI). Experience with survey platforms is highly preferred (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey). Experience with business intelligence/reporting tools and/or enterprise/student information systems (e.g., Cognos/Impromptu, Anthology, Workday, Ellucian, Jenzabar, Slate) is highly preferred. Excellent critical thinking, analytical and organizational skills; and excellent written and oral communication skills. Exemplary attention to detail and a commitment to upholding the unit’s reputation for accuracy, precision, thoroughness, and accountability. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check. The salary range is $55,000 - $61,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
