Position Summary

The Imports Category Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, selecting, and managing imported product categories with a strong focus on European, Hispanic, Middle Eastern, and other specialty international goods. This role plays a key part in shaping the global product assortment and ensuring our customers have access to authentic, high-quality products from around the world. The ideal candidate is experienced in vendor relations, product development, pricing strategy, and market trends.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage import product categories, focusing on European, Hispanic, Middle Eastern, and other international specialties

• Identify, source, and negotiate with global vendors and suppliers

• Analyze category performance, pricing strategies, and consumer trends to drive sales and margin growth

• Build strong vendor relationships to ensure quality, availability, and competitive pricing

• Collaborate with store teams, marketing, and logistics to ensure successful product launches and promotions

• Monitor industry and category trends to introduce innovative and in-demand products

• Ensure product quality, food safety, and compliance with all company standards and regulations

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of buying or category management experience in grocery, retail, or food importing

• Strong knowledge of European, Hispanic, Middle Eastern, and other imported product markets

• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills

• Strong analytical and organizational abilities

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

• Experience with category management tools and inventory systems preferred
